This song reminisces about the music that fueled me and my band mates to start our first bands. Although our first attempt at a band would come in 1995 it was the early 90's emergence of underground music to the mainstream that sparked it and lead us to discover underground punk rock that would eventually burst wide open conquering mainstream music in 1994. The bridge of the song contains lyrics from the first song I ever wrote for a band called Reject for the band Hi-Strung.
lyrics
Sometimes I sound like a broken record
Spittin out a beat.
Down and out by myself
Cause no one’s ever listening.
To the sounds that sound like the memories of forgotten days.
Just like the radio in 1993.
So sing a song for me.
Wrote down by the broken hearted and lifestyle that we once started.
Knocked down but bot throwing in the towel just yet.
Those nights are over did you forget?
We’re not going to die just yet.
Sometimes I swear I can feel the static
Reaching out to me.
Down and out by myself
You can almost feel it traveling.
A better plan is always nice.
But I don’t care for your advice.
And I want to go my separate way.
And I don’t I don’t care what you have to say.
Knocked down but bot throwing in the towel just yet.
Those nights are over did you forget?
We’re not going to die just yet.
Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
